Surrounded by the Eldorado National Forest and just an hour from Sacramento in California, Wrights Lake Campground is set on the shores of Wrights Lake with breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada’s rocky peaks and Desolation Wilderness. The campground offers campsites for tent and RV camping, several of which boast sweeping views of Wrights Lake and all of which are equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. Vault toilets are available, and firewood can be gathered in the area, which is well-known for its excellent hiking trails, fields of blooming wildflowers, and myriad bird species. Recreational activities in the area include trout fishing, swimming, and boating activities, as well as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and off-road vehicle riding on the Barrett Lake Jeep trail.
