Review:

Museum of Cultures is a national Swiss heritage site that was originally founded as the Museum of Natural History and Ethnography in 1844, intended to house a variety of artifacts collected by regional merchants and travelers. In 1904, the museum's ethnography collections were transferred to the care of a different museum department, which became its own independent institution in 1917 that was rebranded as the Museum of Cultures in 1996. Today, it houses significant collections of ancient art and artifacts, with notable holdings from Tibet, Bali, and regions within the South Pacific. More than 300,000 objects are held by the museum, making it the largest museum of its kind in Europe.
