From the moment I drove up the pine-lined road into Custer State Park, I knew Blue Bell Lodge was something special. Nestled deep in South Dakota’s best wildlife sanctuary, this cozy log cabin ranch gave me that authentic cowboy feel—from chuckwagon cookouts and trail rides to the crackle of the fireplace in a Western-style cabin. If you’re dreaming of a rustic escape in the Black Hills, this is where you want to be.
