Joshua Tree National Park is known for its isolated natural beauty. Campers can sleep under the stars in one of the nine campgrounds on this vast property with its namesake trees that look like they would be at home in a Dr. Seuss book. Nature lovers can explore the two distinct ecosystems of the Mojave and Sonoran deserts in this vast expanse of wilderness. Hiking, rock climbing, and horseback riding are popular activities. Park rangers and volunteers offer guided walks and tours as well as a junior ranger program for its younger visitors. The park is open all year round.
