Shipwrecks Beach is one of the largest beachfront areas along Keoneloa Bay, located along Kauai's southern shoreline near Po'ipu. The local favorite beach, which is located directly in front of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, is named in honor of a large historic shipwreck in the early 1980s which was partially buried in the beach's sands. Recent beachfront development has made the once-secluded beach a top spot for swimming, surfing, and bodysurfing today.
