Review:

Established in 1988, the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve comprises over 45,000 acres of wetlands, waterways, salt marshes and coastal dunes in northeastern Duval County, including historic areas such as Fort Caroline National Memorial and the Kingsley Plantation. The Kingsley Plantation (also known as the Zephaniah Kingsley Plantation Home and Buildings) is located on Fort George Island and is the oldest standing plantation in the state. Named after Zephaniah Kingsley, who lived there for 25 years, the plantation reflects the typical plantation during Florida’s slave period and can be explored on guided tours.
