Review:
The Florida Theatre isn’t just home to amazing performances, it’s also home to an incredible history. Located in downtown Jacksonville, the Florida Theatre hosted its very first show on April 8, 1927. Later in 1983, the theatre was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has, since then, been dedicated to staging memorable and diverse theatrical experiences from within its landmark building. This historic theater has 1,900 seats and proudly hosts the Theatreworks program, which is known for being one of the best touring national and international professional children’s theatres around. As a well-known partner of the Cultural Counsil of Jacksonville as well as Florida State’s Cultural Affairs Department, the Florida Theatre hosts performances of all kinds nearly every day of the week.
