Set on a 313-acre property in the western part of the city, the South Florida National Cemetery has been open for burials since 2007, and it was created to serve as the burial place for veterans of the armed forces and their immediate family members. The grounds are always kept well-maintained, and visitors are welcome to come pay their respects, go for a walk, and read the names on the cemetery's Memorial Wall. Ceremonies are held here on Memorial Day and other special occasions, and the gates are open every day between sunrise and sunset.
