Built in the early 1920s to serve as a movie palace, the Lake Worth Playhouse is the oldest surviving Art Deco building in the city, and it's still an important community space for theater productions and other artistic events.

The shows range from live concerts to Broadway shows to ballet performances on film, and dinner and a show packages are available for people who want to enjoy a meal at one of the city's excellent restaurants. In addition to the events held on the main stage, the Playhouse also has a small black-box theater where it plays daily foreign and independent films.
