Conveniently located within easy driving distance of both Lake City and Gainesville, the Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park is one of Florida’s newest state parks, offering visitors a wonderful day out crammed full of fun family activities. The park protects a series of natural springs including the largest, Gilchrist Blue, which pumps out a significant amount of crystal-clear water which makes its way through a shallow run to the near-by Santa Fe River. The park is a wonderful playground for children who can enjoy hiking, wading, swimming, paddling and snorkeling as well as wildlife watching and nature study. The park boasts restrooms and a concession where you can buy drinks and snacks.
