Located in the original historic Wiltwyck Fire Station building, the Volunteer Firemen’s Hall and Museum strives to collect and showcase historic firefighting artifacts from Ulster County. Admission to the museum is free and visitors of all ages will enjoy admiring the museum’s fine collection of historic photographs, records and fire-fighting equipment, some of which is more than 100 years old. There are several vintage fire trucks to admire and visitors will learn all about the perils of firefighting back in the old days. Upstairs you can see the actual sleeping quarters of the old fire station and see the original firemen’s sliding pole. There is no entry fee but donations are very welcome in order to continue preserving this gem.
