America’s melting-pot population is made up of immigrants from just about all corners of the globe. Visiting the Reher Center for Immigrant History and Culture will give visitors greater insight into the varied cultures of the thousands of men and women who shaped the destiny of the US. The center is located in the historic Reher Bakery building in the Rondout neighborhood, where it welcomes visitors to come and enjoy a guided tour. You will learn about the Reher immigrant family, their bakery and the vibrant part they and other immigrants have played in the area. You can even pick up an original bread-roll recipe to try at home.
