Visitors to Kingston can enjoy an exciting day out when they book a ticket to ride the Catskill Mountain Railroad, which links Kingston to the Catskill Mountains. The railroad started operations in 1982, using the route of the historic Rondout and Osego Railroad which was built in the 1800’s and was used to move everything from quarried marble to food between New York City and the Catskills. Today the Catskill Mountain Railroad offers a year-round calendar of fun railroad adventures using vintage engines and coaches. Excursions include the Easter Bunny Express, the Catskill Fall Foliage Flyer and Pumpkin Express, to name but a few.
