Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville, South Carolina is monadnock, or in other words, a stand-alone mountain. Established by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression, Paris Mountain State Park now features a Park Center with a gift shop, historical exhibits, and a classroom. There’s also approximately fifteen miles of biking and hiking trails, over thirty paved campsites with electrical and water hookups, and a lake where visitors are able to fish, paddle, and swim. Other features of the park include trailside camping, a 15-acres reservoir for fishing, and Campbuckhorn with its cabins and central lodge dining area.
