Review & FAQ:
The Oklahoma Land Run Monument recognizes the historic beginnings of Oklahoma Territory's settlement and eventual statehood. On April 22, 1889, 50,000 settlers rushed onto the plains of Oklahoma to stake their claim on land the government was giving out for free.
The Land Run Monument is a group of bronze statues depicting the brave settlers and their horses and wagons as they made a frantic dash for the land. The monument stands at the south end of the Bricktown District and is open 365 days per year, 24 hours a day. Admission is free.
