The Submarine Force Museum is home of the historic USS Nautilus as well as one of the finest collections of America’s submarines and submarine artifacts in the nation. It is the only museum of its kinds in the U.S. that is operated by the United States Navy. Visitors of all ages love exploring the artifacts, photographs, and documents which reflect Submarine Force history. The most popular aspect of the museum is the USS Nautilus, the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine. Be sure to allocate a couple of hours when visiting the museum as there are over 33,000 artifacts, 30,000 photographs, and 20,000 related documents.
