Peaks Trail is a long alpine trail that is 15.5 miles long and is rated as difficult, gaining 1,971 feet in elevation overall. The trail is somewhat popular, especially the lower sections. The trail can be accessed from either Frisco or Breckenridge and is an out-and-back trail. Breckenridge to Frisco features more downhill sections than the other way around. The multi-use trail is popular for mountain biking, hiking, birding, cross-country skiing, trail running, backpacking, and more. The trail is dog friendly and features include creeks, beautiful rocks, wildflowers, scenic views, and the possibility to see wildlife, including moose.
