The Museum of Outdoor Arts (MOA) was founded in 1981 by John W. Madden Jr. and his daughter Cynthia. It was originally an outdoor garden dedicated to fine art, architecture, and landscape design. In 2000 the museum added on several indoor galleries, studios, and offices, the most famous aspect of which is the Cabinet of Curiosities. The MOA’s Cabinet of Curiosities & Impossibilities is a collaborative installation which showcases the talents of several artists. The immersive exhibition includes many oddities such as an original 19th century ‘rocking ships’ automaton, Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ cabinet with bronze maquettes, and much more.
