The Turrialba Volcano National Park (Parque Nacional Volcan Turrialba) surrounds the Turrialba Volcano, an active 11,000--foot-tall stratovolcano in Turrialba in Cartago that last erupted in 2017. Situated at the southeast end of the Central Volcanic Corridor, the volcano is a popular destination for both tourists and scientists who flock to the area to explore and experience the majestic beauty and power of the volcano and its craters. A climb to the summit on a clear day is rewarded with breathtaking views of volcanoes such as Barva, Irazú, and Poás, and the Atlantic Ocean.
