The town of Wasaga Beach is home to one of the best beaches in all of Ontario, making this an ideal destination for a fun-in-the-sun day trip from Toronto. Wasaga Beach is located about an hour north of Toronto on the southern shore of Georgian Bay, where it is famous for being the longest fresh-water beach in the world. Here you have 14 kilometers of soft white sand for castle building and sunbathing and pleasantly warm water for swimming (in summer). Although there are no life guards on Wasaga Beach there are restrooms and other facilities including picnic tables. You can also go hiking along the board walk or enjoy kayaking and other water sports.
