For a day trip with a difference, why not plan to spend some time exploring the largest Lavender Farm in Ontario. The Terre Blue Lavender Farm is located just 76 km west of Toronto and can be reached by road in just over an hour. The very best time of year to visit is summer, when the nine varieties of farmed lavender reach their peak between July and August. Visitors can join a guided tour of the huge farm to learn all about the intricacies of producing organically grown lavender. After you have walked through the fragrant fields of flowers you will also visit the apiary and the honeybee viewing enclosure as well as the distillery where the precious essential oils are produced.
