Managed by the Conservation Society of California, the Oakland Zoo is the ideal place to spend some time with the children. In addition to seeing a very wide variety of animals from all corners of the globe, your children can enjoy getting up-close to farmyard animals at the Children’s Zoo and have the time of their lives on various amusement-park rides and the zoo train.
The zoo is home to more than 850 animals including African elephants and lions, Australian wallabies, brown bears, monkeys and a host of other fascinating wild animals. In addition, there are many reptiles, amphibians, birds and even insects to admire.
