The Parish Church of St. Mark, also known as St. Mark's Episcopal Church, is a famed Glendale church that was originally founded in 1893. The church, which is located on North Brand Boulevard in the city's center, has been showcased in major television series such as Desperate Housewives and The Mentalist and is noted as a popular venue for concert performances and theatrical productions. Its current building was designed in 1947 by ecclesiastical architect Carlton M. Winslow, showcasing Gothic Revival and Spanish architectural elements. It is known for its 100-foot spire, ornate Gothic facade, life-sized Jesus statue, and outdoor garden, which is open every day between dawn and dusk for visitor relaxation and contemplation.
