The post-modern, glass-heavy architecture of the Mesa Arts Center makes it a focal point of the downtown Mesa area. This venue is a grandiose performing and visual arts space that was opened in 2005. It incorporates four theaters of varying sizes, from the intimate 99-seat Farnsworth Studio Theater to the expansive 1,600-person Ikeda Theater.

The Mesa Arts Center also contains five art galleries and 16 studio spaces for classes and educational presentations. Both its exhibition spaces and its theater settings have rotating schedules with an ever-changing lineup of musical and theatrical performances and different works of traditional and applied art.
