Review:

This ancient Buddhist Temple sits on Mt. Namsan, next to the Sambulsa Temple, which lies just west of the Gyeongju National Park. The area is surrounded by forests and trails that provide amazing views of the landscape. Upon entering the temple, visitors can see traditional Korean art within the architecture that is simple, but elegant. Large painted guardians stand watch on the gates to ward off evil spirits. Large Shimu-do murals can be seen on the walls of the different buildings, including the barracks, the prayer hall, the facilities buildings, and on the walls that surround the temple itself. In the center of the temple, an ancient pagoda marks the entrance to a small lily pond, where there is a small path around to see the area. Beyond the pond is the Samseong-gak shaman shrine and a memorial hall for the dead. Mangwolsa Mountain Temple Map
