The Steele Indian School Park stands as a tribute to honor American Indian veterans, making the park a premiere park for special events within central Phoenix. Established by the American Indian Veterans Memorial Organization, Steele Indian School Park boasts a historic setting, mature trees for plenty of shade, and many acres of green grassy areas, along with a 60-foot event amphitheater big enough for a symphony orchestra, a playground, sand volleyball courts, picnic areas and shelters, and half-court basketball courts. There is also a waterfall near the amphitheater, directly off the bird-shaped 2.5 acre lake.
