Spanning across seventeen thousand acres, Phoenix’s South Mountain Park and Preserve is the country’s largest municipal park, a massive space full of history and adventure. Hikers will find the hiking icons of Superstition Mountain and Camelback Mountain at the park, offering the idea place for biking and trekking, as well as the South Mountain, which provides stunning vistas of the surrounding city and the horizon from the summit. In total, South Mountain Park offers fifty-one miles of biking and hiking trails. There is also the South Mountain Environmental Education Center at the preserve, and picnic areas with barbeque grills.
