Slide Rock State Park is located in Oak Creek Canyon, about seven miles north of Sedona, Arizona.
The park was named for a slippery rock that forms natural water slide in Oak Creek.
It is located in Coconino National Forest and is known for tall red rock formations typical of the region.
A working apple farm is also part of the park. The apple farm is one of the few still preserved homesteads in Oak Creek Canyon. Three trails run through the park: Homestead Trail, Slide Rock Route, and Clifftop Nature Trail. Slide Rock State Park is one of the most popular parks in Arizona and was voted by USA Today as one of the best swimming holes in the country.
