Saguaro National Park is a 92,000-acre park in Pima County, southeastern Arizona. It has two distinct sections or districts on either side of the city of Tucson. Saguaro National Park was created to protect the giant saguaro cactus, found only in the desert environment of small parts of the US. In the western Tucson Mountain District, petroglyphs of the ancient Hohokam people can be reached by hiking the Signal Hill Trail. In the eastern Rincon Mountain District, Cactus Forest Drive offers breathtaking views of the desert landscape. The Rincon support high biodiversity and provide home to a range of plants and animals, including the giant saguaro cactus.
