Review:

Petrified Forest National Park is located in northeastern Arizona in Navajo and Apache counties. In its southern part, the Rainbow Forest is full of large deposits of colorful petrified wood, which gave it its name.

The park is also home to the Rainbow Forest Museum, which features paleontology exhibits and a number of trail access points.

In the park's center, visitors can see the petroglyphs of Newspaper Rock and the remnants of Puerco Pueblo village. At the north side of the park is the Painted Desert Inn, a 1930s adobe structure that houses a museum with Hopi murals. The park is a popular spot for sightseeing, nature photography, backpacking, and hiking.
