Review:

Spirit Mound State Historic Prairie is a historic area located 6.5 miles north of Vermillion that features a prominent hill on the Great Plains that Plains Indian tribes once thought of as the home of dangerous spirits. Established in 2002, the park has a trail leading to the summit of Spirit Mound, which is a designated National Recreation Trail and visitors can climb to the top of the hill that was once climbed by members of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in early 1800. Activities in the park include hiking, and picnicking and facilities include drinking water and vault toilets.
