One of Lake Tahoe’s secluded beaches, Skunk Harbor is a must-see for those willing to go on a short hike or bike ride to its location. The beach is well worth the effort thanks to its untouched shoreline and pristine blue waters surrounded by dense forests.
While the beach is less crowded compared to others along Lake Tahoe, it can still draw in quite a crowd, especially during the summer months. The trail there is also enjoyable as hikers can get great views of the lake and coniferous forest as they walk or bike through the 1.6-mile path. While the trail does have an incline, families with young kids can handle the trip with the help of a beefy stroller. Dogs are also allowed on the trail and at the beach.
