The Grave of Brownie, the Town Dog, is the grave of the most famous “four-legged friend” of Daytona Beach, Florida. While this beloved dog may no longer be around, the story of Brownie is still shared today to those who visit. Brownie was a stray dog living in the downtown area that was "owned by no one,” but “loved by all,” meaning the residents of the town collectively adopted him in 1939 until he sadly passed away in 1954. Brownie had his own custom dog house, dined on ice cream and steak, and even had a bank account with Florida Bank and Trust.
