Located on Beach Street in the historic Merchants Bank Building that dates back to 1910, the Halifax Historical Museum highlights the colorful and rich history of the Daytona Beach area all the way back to 5000 B.C through present day. Open Tuesday through Saturday, the museum features artifacts associated with vintage Americana, World War I and World War II, pioneer families, and the British and Spanish colonial periods. There’s also the Racing Zone at the Halifax Historical Museum, which explores early beach racing in the area to NASCAR. Other permanent exhibits include The Civil War in Florida and Native Americans Timucuans.
