Holland is one of Michigan’s most popular day-trip and vacation destinations, located on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. The town was settled by Dutch immigrants in 1847 and maintains a strong Dutch identity which is superbly showcased during the annual Tulip Time Festival in May. There are plenty of activities in Holland that will have you thinking you have arrived in Europe – you can tour the De Zwaan Windmill, admire the downtown Dutch architecture or savor Dutch delicacies at several eateries. Outdoor activities include sailing, hiking and cycling. To quench your thirst you can visit a few of the city’s craft breweries.
