The mission of the Northwind Arts Center is to connect arts and the community. They foster appreciation for, and diversity in the visual, literary and performing arts. The non-profit organization is run by volunteers and operates out of the ground floor of an historic downtown building. It houses an art gallery, exhibitions, artist showcases and the archives. Artists' works are also displayed in local libraries and hospitals. The art is for sale, at the artist's discretion. The education program includes lectures, readings, workshops and presentations. Fields of interest include film, photography, songwriting, and book binding, printing and illustration.
