The city of Springfield, Virginia is one of the main business centers of Fairfax County. Originally founded in 1847 as a station along the Orange and Alexandria Railroad, the city has a nice local feel with plenty of opportunities for entertainment, shopping, and dining options both in town and in the surrounding area. 2.St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Springfield, VA

The St. Bernadette Catholic Church is home to a welcoming and friendly parish that aims to provide a warm welcome to any visitors to their church, and is also known for its fantastic choir music. The pastor of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church gives down-to-earth sermons aimed to inspire all who listen to continue self-transformation. Multiple masses are held at the church every weekend, with English masses four times on Sunday mornings and afternoon, as well as a mass in Spanish at 5:00pm. Masses are also available Monday through Friday at 9:00am, along with an 8:00am mass on Saturdays.

3.Springfield United Methodist Church, Springfield, Virginia

The Springfield United Methodist Church was founded back in 1954 in Springfield, formerly known as the Springfield Methodist Church. The first church service of what would become Springfield Methodist Church was held at the Garfield School in January of 1954 with an attendance of 33 residents. The groundbreaking for the actual church building happened the following year, and was later updated and remodeled in 1974, and renovated completely in 2000. Today, the church welcomes visitors to their Sunday services at 8:15am and at 10:30am, caring about people and their well-being and encouraging people to “come as they are.”

4.Sydenstricker Schoolhouse, Springfield, Virginia

What’s unique about the more than ninety-year-old historic Sydenstricker Schoolhouse is that it still acts as a thriving community center. The structure remains today structurally and architecturally intact with only a handful of minor changes.
