Review:
Provinciaal Hof is an imposing and stately neo-Gothic style building located in Bruges marketplace. It was originally the meeting place for the West Flanders provincial government, but now acts as a ceremonial building that houses exhibitions. It was built in two phases – the first was from 1887 to 1892, and the second was from 1914 to 1921. The interior was decorated by famous artists Gustaaf and Hendrik Pickery, and includes ten sculptures of royalty located in the main meeting room. They were also responsible for the building’s ironwork and stained glass windows along with Jules Dobbelaere. Several murals of prominent people from West Flanders can also be found inside.
