Review:

Now the largest zoo in Cyprus, Limassol Zoo was actually created by complete happenstance. In 1954, a local woman had a monkey at her home that children loved visiting and playing with. She decided to donate the monkey to the zoo, which at that time only had a few birds in a makeshift center, so that more people would be able to visit and enjoy the monkey’s company.

As popularity grew, many other people began donating various animals as well. By 1956, the zoo became official, with much of its furry friends being donated by zoos from all around the world. Today, visitors will love exploring this intimate, yet highly informative, zoo. You’ll see several animals in environments which replicate their natural habitat, while also being able to attend zoo events such as tours, lectures, and briefings on the local wildlife.
