Johnson Valley Reservoir is located in the heart of Utah's Fishlake National Forest. The 700-acre reservoir was created in 1899 after a dam was built on Sevenmile Creek. Surrounded by tall, stately aspens and rolling hills and located high in the mountains, the reservoir is a perfect recreation destination during the hot summer months. Less popular than nearby Fish Lake, Johnson Valley Reservoir is wonderful, peaceful summer retreat, perfect for boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, and hiking through the surrounding forest. There is a public boat launch on the northern side of Johnson Valley Reservoir, together with a few picnic tables and a primitive campground. Fishing is one of the most popular activities here, especially for trout. Map
