Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is United States' 21st busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic. It is also the nation's 14th busiest international air gateway and is one of the world's 50 busiest airports; the airport handles more than twenty-five million passengers every year. The airport is located in Broward County which is around three miles southwest of Ft. Lauderdale, at the intersection of I-595 and I-95. The FLL airport is one of the fasting growing in Florida that attracts a large number of vacationers throughout the year as the airport is close to Port Everglades, one of the most active cruise ship ports in the world. Even Port Miami is less than an hour away from the airport.
FLL offers international flight service to Canada, Europe, Mexico, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Central America and South America. JetBlue & American airlines fly connecting flights that take 14.37 to 18.56 hours for a single journey and the ticket prices start from $524. The connecting flight routes fly via Tampa (TPA) or New York City (JFK), or both.
At the destination is the Key West International Airport (EYW), located at Monroe County which is two miles east of Key West. The EYW airport is comparatively a smaller airport than FLL. Due to the airport's short runway, the departing flights impose stringent weight restrictions. The airport has two terminals which makes it easier to navigate around the airport. It offers parking space and space for car rental along with the basic amenities that an airport offers.
