Eagle Eye Observatory, operated by the Canyon of the Eagles resort, is open to both guests staying at the resort and visitors. At an elevation of around 1,1100 feet above sea level, the observatory’s dark-sky location is thought to be one of the state’s best astronomy viewing sites. Featuring a sliding-roof design, Eagle Eye Observatory has two roof sections that move independently of each other. Qualified astronomers are available to answer questions and the observatory has modern telescopes. When the weather doesn’t allow for telescope viewing, the observatory offers programs through planetarium software, interactive Q/A sessions, and videos.
