Operated by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Department of Physics, the UTRGV Planetarium allows the local community and students alike to use its telescopes for spotting astronomically significant objects. Visitors can also spend some time at the planetarium watching one of the many presentations on astronomy, physical science, astrophysics, cosmology, or physics. The UTRGV Planetarium aims to create, promote, and disseminate educational experiences and learning through its utilization of innovative specialized equipment, surround sound, and digitally enhanced visualization technology for its scheduled shows. Visitors can stop by Tuesday nights to watch the planets and stars of the Milky Way.

Taco Palenque in the city of Edinburg is primarily known for serving authentic Mexican fare and has become a popular local place for friends and family to enjoy a meal together. The eatery was founded by Juan Francisco Ochoa, also known by family and friends as “Don Pacho,” who wanted to bring his passion and love of Mexican food to the people of the United States. After moving from Sinaloa, Mexico, Juan opened the first Taco Palenque in Laredo, Texas in 1987. The restaurant has now grown to be a chain consisting of more than two dozen locations.
