Just 25 minutes from Dallas (and 3 hours from my home in Austin), Rockwall is located along Lake Ray Hubbard. My favorite time to visit is in the spring and fall so that I can go walking along the lake. I stayed at The Castle At Rockwall because I was doing research for my article on Texas castles and Castles in the USA. But if you want to stay right on the lake, my favorite is SpringHill Suites by Marriott Dallas Rockwall.
