The Reading Area Firefighters Museum occupies the premises of the original history Reading firehouse in the heart of the Callowhill Historic District. The building, named The Liberty Fire Co. No 5, is one of the most important and best-preserved historic structures in the city. The inside of the museum is filled with a wonderful collection of all things to do with firefighting as well as many beautiful pieces of antique furniture and vintage firefighting equipments. There are many old photographs to give visitors an idea of how little equipment the brave firefighters had at their disposal several decades ago. The Museum is open on Thursdays and Sundays.
