Barkcamp State Park is a public recreation area near the village of Belmont in Belmont County. The rugged hills of the country provide a picturesque backdrop for this family-friendly state park, which features excellent recreational facilities and beautiful natural landscapes of rolling meadows, dense woodlands, a scenic lake, and abundant wildlife. Resting at the heart of the coal mining region of Ohio, this secluded 1,005-acre park offers camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and picnicking, with the campground featuring many electric sites, restrooms with showers, and a dump station. Other recreational activities to enjoy in the area include volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and miniature golf, while attractions range from the Belmont County Museum and Friends Meeting House to the Dysart Woods.
