Peacefully nestled in the heart of the Lake Skaneateles watershed, the Bahar Nature Preserve is home to a hidden gem of nature. Formerly a private estate belonging to the Bahar family, the preserve is now owned and protected by the Finger Lakes Land Trust. When you visit you will find a wonderful river gorge, lined with forests and vines just waiting to be explored on foot. The preserve also includes a 65-foot stretch of lake shore, which provides a natural boat ramp for canoes or kayaks. Those who follow the 1.6 mile hiking trail will be rewarded for their efforts by amazing views of the canyon and the Carpenter Falls which drop dramatically into a deep natural pool.
