Edward Hopper Birthplace and Boyhood Home preserves the birthplace and childhood home of famed American realist painter and printmaker Edward Hopper, best known for its urban and rural oil paintings of modern American life in the early 20th century. Hopper was born at the Greek Revival-style home in 1882 and lived at the home until his move to nearby Manhattan in 1910. Since 2000, the home has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, it is open to the public as a living history museum and art center, showcasing gallery exhibits dedicated to Hopper's life and work and the work of his contemporaries. Art workshops, lectures, concerts, and classes are offered throughout the year for visitors of all ages.
