Roots Cafe is a cash-only coffee shop based in a long and narrow space that serves all-day breakfast and lunch and fantastic coffee. The café serves locally-roasted coffee from Ithaca-based Forty Weight Coffee Roasters, run by Andrew Ballard and Matt Marks, who are committed to ethical, responsible, and transparent business practices. In addition to the regular coffee favorites, Roots also has an expansive list of teas and specialty drinks like the Yoo-Hoo with espresso and iced coconut Americano. Light bites range from breakfast burritos and sandwiches to fresh salads, and a small, but charming patio offers alfresco dining and poetry readings on warm summer nights.
