The world-famous Statue of Liberty was a gift to the United States from France and is widely viewed as a symbol of democracy and freedom. Dedicated in October of 1886, the iconic national landmark was designated in 1924 as a National Monument. Tickets are available to the public for the grounds around the Statue of Liberty, as well as for inside the Pedestal or the Crown. Visitors arrive to the island via ferry service and all tickets for the ferry include admission to the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration and the Statue of Liberty Museum.
